Language Academy

Language Academy

Nowadays, it has become essential to speak two foreign languages in addition to one’s own. Learning a language takes time, there are no shortcuts to language proficiency. Nevertheless, we believe that it is possible to optimize the learning of the language to the maximum, guiding the student with an efficient and customized method.

Language teaching methods proposed by publishers have been standardized and are aimed at all types of students, whatever their origin. Making it possible for standard language academies to teach large heterogeneous groups of students.

These methods are based on a system of repetition of grammatical structures with the aim that the student memorizes them and acquires basic communication skills: shopping, greeting, ordering things in foreign administrations, etc. In order to acquire this basic ability to communicate, the student has to spend years learning it.

Our instructors have developed their own tried-and-tested methodology for each language, refined and improved over their decades of teaching experience. There are no tricks to becoming proficient in a language, it takes work but at B&LS our expertize and methodology will optimize your efforts and get you there faster.

Methodology

Language is no more than “codes” made of different sequences we learn from birth by repetition. We add vocabulary to our “code’s database” during our formative years and when we read. This is an organic lifelong learning process.

In order to teach a student the sequences composing a foreign language “code” decisive parameters must be taken into account. One should be able to identify the similarities and differences between the two languages, take into account the age and level of education of the student and his motivation.

These four parameters will determine how and at what speed the student will be taught that “code” which will allow him/her to take over the language.

Our twenty years of experience in teaching foreign languages have shown that not only is the student capable of creating more complex sentence structures when he better understands the “code” of the foreign language and can compare it with that of his own language, but that he will also have a solid language base, acquiring vocabulary more quickly, thus exponentially increase his knowledge of the language and his ability to communicate.
